Sam Altman Returns As OpenAI CEO, Microsoft Joins Board in New Leadership Shakeup!


After a roller coaster ride on the CEO’s chair in OpenAI, Sam Altman has finally won and he is now the returning CEO of OpenAI. After the shocking decision from the OpenAI’s board members, Sam Altman was fired from his CEO’s chair!

Now, After the comeback of Sam Altman, the three board members who were responsible for these messes where resigned. The only board member who sticks with his position is Adam D’Angelo. On November 30, 7:15 AM, Sam Altman confirmed this by sharing an X post.

According to the post, Mira Murati is OpenAI’s CTO, Greg Brockman is back as president and the board members who were responsible for this, have resigned. The new board members are Bret Taylor, Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo.

Not just that, Microsoft will be also a part of the OpenAI’s board. But, they will stay as observers sit with no voting power. Hopefully, this will prevent OpenAI from future messes with its decision-making.

Before that, on November 17, in a Google Meet call, Sam Altman was declared as a fired employee of OpenAI. The three board members were alleged Sam Altman for lack of communication with other employees.

But, later on, the president of OpenAI, Greg Brockman also decided to resign along with over 500 employees of OpenAI. This was a big pressure on the board members. Also, Microsoft openly announced that they would hire every employee of OpenAI directly including Sam Altman.

But, at last, Nothing changed except the board members. The ex-CEO is re-hired, the President is back, employees are back. Everything looks solid for now!
